John began his career as a Court Attorney with the Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department and has since practiced in the litigation groups of both large and small law firms as well as the Suffolk County Attorney's Office. He has represented municipalities, corporations, insurance companies and individuals in all aspects of civil litigation from trials to appeals. He has developed a proficiency in appellate, insurance coverage and complex tort litigation.

John has handled over two hundred appeals and has appeared in all New York State appellate courts, including the Court of Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Notable cases include Pavia v. State Farm Mutual Auto. Ins. Co., 82 N.Y.2d 445, 605 N.Y.S.2d 208 (1993); Hygh v. Jacobs, 961 F.2d 359 (2d Cir. 1992); Mascia v. Maresco, 39 A.D.2d 504, 833 N.Y.S.2d 207 (2d Dep't 2007); Santoro v. Town of Smithtown, 40 A.D.3d 736, 835 N.Y.S.2d 658 (2d Dep't 2007); Saastomoinen v. Pagano, 278 A.D.2d 218, 717 N.Y.S.2d 274 (2d Dep't 2000); Helgans v. Plurad, 255 A.D.2d 554, 680 N.Y.S.2d 648 (2d Dep't 1998).
