Tom Sica has extensive experience handling all phases of litigation and related matters for insurance companies. His career began in 1983, when he was hired as a bodily injury claims adjuster for Aetna Life & Casualty. It was here that he was first exposed to litigated claim files, including claims involving automobile, premises, labor law and professional liability. In 1989 Tom moved to Northbrook Insurance Company, the commercial insurer company of Allstate Insurance. As a Technical Claim Representative, he was responsible for varied case load including Business Auto, Business Premises, Labor Law and Products Liability. It was at this same time Tom entered St. John's School of Law. Upon graduation and admission to the New York State Bar in 1993, he was moved to Allstate's Staff Counsel.

In his fifteen years with Allstate Staff Counsel, Tom handled all phases of personal injury litigation from inception through trial, including pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions, jury selection and trial. During that time he tried over 40 negligence cases to verdict. He also spent time as part of a team working on summary judgment motions on both liability and damages.

Previously, Tom was associated with a general practice firm. He was one of a two-man team handling the personal injury files as plaintiff counsel. These cases included auto, premises, municipal and school liability against school districts, towns and county agencies respectively as well as any related property damage claims.
